After android 10 upgrade, can't log in the app.

I'm using a Note 9 and before upgrade, everything was fine.

After upgrade, I can't log in in the app, every time when I try to log in the message is "There was an error verifying your account data".

I've deleted the cache/storage for the app, uninstall and reinstall and still nothing.

With the same user/pass I can log in without issues on strava.com.

    We are aware of an issue impacting login for Android users and are working to resolve this critical issue for our athletes. We hope to see this issue resolved in the next version of the Strava mobile application that should reduce the number of athletes running into this error message. With that said, athletes could expect to still see this issue on rare occasion as some aspects of the log in process are outside of our control.
     
    In the meantime you can try some of the troubleshooting steps listed below we have seen previously work for other athletes when attempting to login through their mobile device:
     

    1. If you manually adjusted your clock on your mobile device, please visit the device settings and update your clock to receive the local time from your network.


    2. One potential workaround would be to log in to Strava.com on a computer, connect to Google or Facebook, and then try to log in through Google/Facebook on the mobile app.


    3. Alternatively, you can try visiting Strava.com on a mobile browser such as Chrome for iOS or Android and login to your Strava profile on the mobile browser. Once logged in, you may see a prompt to open Strava on the Mobile app. Follow the prompt and this should allow you to bypass the login error without issues. If this does not initially work, please try turning your mobile device off for approximately 30 minutes then turn it on again and try again.


    4. If this issue occurred when you switched to a new mobile device, try to log out and log in again with the new password on your old phone.

  • Same problem, on Android 9 though.  Logged in on PC browser no problems, getting this error on my new Motorola G8 Plus (Android Version 9)

  • Same for me using android 5.1.  App was working no issues, but I un-installed for other reasons, then re-installed, now I get the message 'there was an error verifying your account data'.  I've changed passwords, un-installed and re-installed and still no joy.  Can log in on strava.com.

  • Same using Android 5.0.
    Only created a Strava account today, installed the app, haven't been able to log into it at all, ever. Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting phone etc.

    Can login to my account via Strava.com website, update profile etc. OK.

    ---

    EDIT: the next day, this morning, I am now able to login to the app OK.

  • The same problem. I installed the app on my new phone (Samsung S10, Android 10) and can't log in ("There was an error verifying your account data"). The browser version works well. When I logged out on my old phone (Samsung S7, Android 8) I also can’t log in on it.

     

    Update: The next day I logged to the app and everything is Ok.

  • Same here on Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite. Was having issues with the app so cleared cache and now can't log in again. I'm sure I've had this issue before and it just rectified itself, but any hints or tips to get logged in again would be much appreciated.

  • My run didn't sync from garmin today and a quick Google said to log out then back in again, logged out of the app now can't log back in again just says error verifying your account data, changed password still can't log back in I got the same message... checked desktop version and I can log in fine on there although my run still hasn't synced 😤

     

    Update* So I just waited till the next day and I could just log in fine...🤷‍♂️ the activity that I didn't sync I just added to strava  by saving the TCX file in garmin connect then adding the run in strava manually and using the TCX file

  • Can't log in to Android app. Android 10 Galaxy S9. The same credentials work fine logging in from my PC. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but no joy. I don't see any fix here. Are previous posters still locked out?

  • Same error experience here.

    Had to factory reset my phone (ASUS Zenphone 4, ASUS_Z01KD) running andriod 8.0 currently. I've since updated my password and cleared cache and data for the app to no avail.

  • On the Strava website, hover over your profile picture, click settings, on the right you should see 'Social Connections' and you can link from there.

    I have cleared the cache on the app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, turned my phone on and off in between all these and still I see the ""there was an error verifying your account data" at the login screen.

    Android 10, latest Strava app update as of today.

    Support requested.

  • Trying to log in to the Strava App after a long time and facing this problem (getting error: There was an error verifying your account data). I am able to login perfectly fine in the website. So, should not be wrong credential issue. Although, i deliberately tried a wrong password in the app and got the same error.

    Hopefully it should get fixed tomorrow as many users mentioned above. I will update tomorrow.

    UPDATE: I am able to login via the app today.

  • Same issue for me on Android phone (OPPO with Android 6). Has happened for a series of days. Can login on the website on my Mac but not on my phone. Have tried deleting and reinstalling the app and changing password and email address. I'd prefer not to link Strava to Google or Facebook so I have more control over privacy. Seems that Strava doesn't respond to any of these comments so I'll try again tomorrow or give up on the app entirely.

  • This was a bug ages back, it seems to have reared its ugly head again, try all the usual (inc. reset pwd), but then do a full network reset,

    then just to be doubly safe (likely unneeded but what the heck) go into: Strava app (app manager in settings) stop the app, go into Storage, delete all data and clear cache, then uninstall the app.

    Once you've got all of your Wi-Fi/Bluetooth etc config back in place, redownload and install the strava app, then launch;

    And just to be doubly safe, I didn't use my pwd manager to autofill, I copied my saved pwd from my pwd manager, typed in u/n (email), pasted the pwd, hit login and FINALLY, it freaking logged in.

    Hope this helps others. FIX THIS STRAVA!!!!

  • Tried all of the suggestions by Jared above but no success.

    "There was an error verifying your account data" continues to appear.

    1) Force stop app

    2) Clear cache

    3) Clear data

    4) Uninstall

    5) Restart phone, + wipe cache partition

    6) Re-install app

     

    7)  Start the process over again as message reappears-

    On GS9

    Issue on Apple- change password issue sorted

    Come on Strava this is worse than useless

    Found the article below to get this solved (for Android users)

    And used the APK below.
    https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/strava-inc/strava-running-and-cycling-gps/strava-running-and-cycling-gps-71-0-1-release/

    Basically you remove all data from cache & phone as, described by Jared Lane and after this remove the app.
    Then after this download and install and older version of the Strava as an APK file.
    This did the trick for me, after a long & frustrating battle with the current Strava App...
    Hope this works for you all, at least for now. Off course Strava should get it solved in the app on the Play Store.
