  • I can see lots of questions regards adding walking to club leader boards but cant find any answers.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this or are we still waiting for Strava ?

  • I would like to allow club leaderboards to become monthly in order to award club members based on months rather than weeks! This gives the feeling of a distance challenge, which is also not a feature. I think that this will also be a helpful feature for clubs who wish to see an annual leaderboard, as the 12 months are more easily referenced than the 52 weeks. Thanks and Happy New Year!

  • Dear Strava, the leaderboard function turned out to be a key motivational tool for our new cycling club in 2020 and many of the members would like to create a Nordic Ski Club with a leaderboard function now that the cycling season is over here and we have snow on the ground.  Why are Strava clubs limited to so few sports?  Thank you.

  • Hello Strava team, please enable the option to create a club for walking & hiking (it could be created in the same way like the club for runners) or to pick the walking/hiking activity to be counted for any club's leadersboard. I'm sure this will increase the Strava app usage tremendously as many of my friends and colleagues worldwide are in these days of pandemic more into walking and hiking than running and biking, especially now that the gyms are closed in so many countries. Hope you can consider this and implement the change quickly. It would be highly appreciated. Many thanks.

    • I want to be able to track all training, including Nordic skiing on a club leaderboard. It will allow our club coach to monitor athlete training and development. The reason that is important is because of adherence to our club training plan and to monitor for overtraining. An example of when I needed that was during the lockdown in the summer due to COVID 19 where feedback directly from club athletes was limited.  This would give Strava an edge over training peaks and likely lead to more subscriptions (at least from our club members).

  • As many have said. Be good to have the ability to select ‘Walk’ as a club activity. This is arguably the entry level activity that will encourage many to run, ride and do it all in Strava

  • Would be nice if a club could include both activities; running and cross country skiing.

  • Is it possible to load certain routes in a club on a separate tab. Obviously as a club we run certain routes repetitively, it would make it a greater user experience if the routes were on a separate tab on the club page. Click on them to save them to the members page. Being able to see club members results for a club's route on their individual page kinda makes sense to me.

  • Roy Hughes currently a club leaderboard will be customized based on the club type: running, cycling, and triathlon clubs. Only activities that match a club’s sport type will be included in the club’s leaderboard. For clubs with their sport type set to ‘other,’ only rides, runs, and swims would be included in the leaderboard.

  • Please can you make it possible for people to be part of a team, but in an "admin" role - i.e. their activity doesn't get included in the stats?

Also, is there an easy way to download the weekly stats from club data, to pull into a spreadsheet, for example?

  • Club / Annual group challenge

We created a club 3 years ago to encourage friends, not just to get off the couch and run, but maintain consistency throughout the year. It began by awarding points when weekly and monthly thresholds were achieved. The club crowns a person(s) with the most points and most km’s each year.

We have learned a lot from the data gathered each year the club as the club has grown, and the rules have been adapted so that the consistency element remains but opportunities to score more points have been created, and therefore keep a level of competition alive.

The Strava ‘Club’ feature is limited on functionality, so I have created a Google Doc to track the progress throughout the year. As you can imagine, the administration is quite laborious, and it would be good if Strava could develop a ‘group challenge’ function or perhaps enhance the current ‘Club’ function.

I have a plethora of suggestions such as:

    • ‘Club’ API to allow users to integrate to external software (google docs in this instance)
    • Business Intelligence/reporting tool to allow admins to extract data
    • More functionality such as thresholds (only runs over ‘x’ km’s or only runs under 8km per hour etc etc)

Strava could benefit by limiting this to subscribers only.

Is there anything in the Strava roadmap which will be looking as such things or perhaps suggestion on how this can be done better using existing tools?

  • Please allow club activity to include walking as many others have asked for, we want to have an inclusive club for my work team and walking is a great way to encourage people to be more active.

  • Hi Strava Managers !

Please allow clubs to select the activities that count towards their leaderboard like walking.

We can not to observe our results in walking :(

  • Let us pick our club leaderboard activities.  Two would be good, 3 would be better.

Nordic Skiing, Running, Biking.  Those would be nice to have on the list instead of swimming in a landlocked state...

  • How can I see a complete weekly/monthly leaderboard within a club?

  • Has Strava or Crispin addressed any of the points and requests above regarding walking within Strava clubs? Whether it is something that is coming/in the pipeline or whether it is not something that they are looking to pursue? I appreciate that the functionality of clubs as they stand has been linked above, but it would be good to know whether there are any further developments and improvements coming to the Club function of Strava.

I know plenty of people who would like walking to be included within their running club or included within a separate walking or hiking club. It would be good if there was an option to select distance or time for the club.

    Thank you.

  • Hello Strava Team,

Mental Health is very key at the moment more than any time in my life time. People are keeping in touch using social media, and setting challenges in keeping fit.  A prime example our business is having a mental health and wellbeing week, which includes several challenges included in a leaderboard.

The issue I am seeing is that a lot of people like to walk to build up their fitness in order to be able to run as an example, will not appear in this leaderboard and they are missing out.

My ask is could you please include WALKING as an activity in Strava  Leaderboard.  I don't think this will be a hard thing for your to introduce into your production environment, but will benefit a lot of people who are crying out for this to happen.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Darren

  • Hi,

I run an 'invite only' group to keep my work running club members together.  As such there are a significant number of members in my Club all doing their own thing.  Once a month however, many Club members take part in a monthly 'Event' and I collate those results into league tables throughout our event season.

(I will resist the urge to bemoan the lack of useful functionality of creating an 'Event'.)

A large number of members do not wish to set their general privacy settings to 'Everyone'.

Problem : Sharing singular activities to Everyone does not appear to make the activity visible within the Club

Problem : I don't want to have to Follow all of my Club members.  It's my personal feed and I don't want it cluttered with the hundreds of activities that collectively happen each day.

Would it be possible to allow users to have a Privacy Setting that allowed activities to be share with specific Clubs that they are a member of?  Note that this would need to be able to choose which Club activities are shared with as not everyone will want all their activities shared with all Club's.

  • I'm a new Club leader and longtime Strava fan. Strava is the only app I genuinely love. That said, couple of things that make it difficult to use Clubs:

    — Huge plus one to supporting Challenges in Clubs.

    — It's impossible to invite people to your Club if they aren't on Strava. Why don't you support email invites anymore? This would get you more users too.

I'm going to give it more of a try, but the amount of friction for outsiders to join is making it tough to grow my Club on Strava.

    Thank you!

  • Hello - I have to agree with the above, i am wanting to do a challenge for my friends and colleagues to be able to participate whether they walk, run or cycle but the 'club' will only allow one sport to be counted and recognised on the leader board. Would have thought this day and age all sporting activities would be counted in any 'challenge' Would also be good to be able to award people 'badges' for their efforts and achievements.

  • Does Strava even respond to these request ?

Its been months since I posted and many others are asking for the same thing! Being able to have multiple activities on club leader boards, not just run, cycle and swim.

    •  I want walking and other activies to show on my club leaderboard. It will allow me to create more inclusive activities. The reason that is important is because I want to make the participation of work sporting activities accessible to all. An example of when I needed that was setting up a challenge for my colleagues.
    • When I went to set up a new club and invite the rest of the company (1000+ people) to join Strava and start logging their activities,  their walking or other activities do not contribute towards the club goal of x kilometres travelled/house active. That is not ok because it means that are not ready to start running or don't' cycle can't contribute towards the club goal.
    • This is important to me because we are an inclusive company and want everyone to be involved.
    • I think including activities that are not running, cycling or swimming would be great because then more people across the company can start using Strava and contribute. This is important to me because I want to create an inclusive and accessible challenge for my colleagues.

  • Please can you have an option for a run and walk club combined. I have set a club for a walk, run challenge so it is inclusive for all age groups and families.

It currently only allows me to select running. This will help me reach a wider audience and account for all miles as it's a team challenge.

  • Hmm, i follow this thread in months, just because i want "walk" to count for leaderboards. To me it make no sense the reducing to just three activities. If the function is working fine for run, cycle, swim - why not just "copy&paste" it to other activities? Isn´t it a kind of keyfeature for social-training apps to ability to compare? For all activities - not just the ironman/triathlons.

As a Endomondo-Refugee i choose Strava instead of all other apps, because of it´s beautiful UI. I really don´t want to choose another app again, but this ignorance to all the same request here is quite provocating. :-/
