  • Please allow clubs to select the activities that count towards their leaderboard, not every club in the world is for running and cycling

  • Why is it so hard to get a decent cover picture. No matter what I do, what size I use, how I crop. It looks terrible. When I select which part of the picture I would like to use. I get something much smaller after I hit save. Making the picture smaller doesn't solve the issue.

  • Please can you enable the separation of road & turbo mileage on Club leaderboards. Our Club has voted to only allow road mileage for Club competitions starting in 2021. Mileage completed on turbo trainers, Zwift, gym spin classes etc is therefore excluded. In order to be able to easily calculate weekly mileage, we would like to be able to separate road and non road miles, either by taking out turbo miles, or by having leaderboards for both types of activity on the Club leaderboard. Currently we would have to look into every activity over the previous 7 days for each member and deduct turbo mileage before arriving at a weekly total.

  • Let us pick our club leaderboard activities.  Two would be good, 3 would be better.

Nordic Skiing, Running, Biking.  Those would be nice to have on the list instead of swimming in a landlocked state...

  • Please can you have an option for a run and walk club combined. I have set a club for a walk, run challenge so it is inclusive for all age groups and families.

It currently only allows me to select running. This will help me reach a wider audience and account for all miles as it's a team challenge.

  • Hmm, i follow this thread in months, just because i want "walk" to count for leaderboards. To me it make no sense the reducing to just three activities. If the function is working fine for run, cycle, swim - why not just "copy&paste" it to other activities? Isn´t it a kind of keyfeature for social-training apps to ability to compare? For all activities - not just the ironman/triathlons.

As a Endomondo-Refugee i choose Strava instead of all other apps, because of it´s beautiful UI. I really don´t want to choose another app again, but this ignorance to all the same request here is quite provocating. :-/

  • Allow me to echos the requests to add 'Walking' to the club types.  In fact, it would make all kinds of sense if the club type list matched the activity option list when one goes to record an activity.

  • Hi Dennis (Strava employee) We aren't being patient!  We are basically being ignored and getting frustrated.

Even if you have big plans for the summer that doesn't address the concerns we have at present, so many people simply want walking adding to the leader boards for clubs. Is there any reason this cant be done whilst your working on your big plans!

I have people leaving our club because of this issue and joining other apps.

  • Can you please add more activities that will count towards a club's total for clubs to choose from.

Right now there is only running, cycling, triathlon, and other. You could also add walking, inline skating, hiking, skiing, swimming, etc.

For example I would like my club to have running and walking as our activities. This will make the club more accessible for those who can't run.

  • Hello Strava team, please enable the option to create a club for walking & hiking (it could be created in the same way like the club for runners) or to pick the walking/hiking activity to be counted for any club's leadersboard. I'm sure this will increase the Strava app usage tremendously as many of my friends and colleagues worldwide are in these days of pandemic more into walking and hiking than running and biking, especially now that the gyms are closed in so many countries. Hope you can consider this and implement the change quickly. It would be highly appreciated. Many thanks.

  • Does Strava even respond to these request ?

Its been months since I posted and many others are asking for the same thing! Being able to have multiple activities on club leader boards, not just run, cycle and swim.

  • Please can you add walking as an activity in clubs, many have already requested this! We are having to log our walks as runs so we can appear on the leader board :(

  • Club / Annual group challenge

We created a club 3 years ago to encourage friends, not just to get off the couch and run, but maintain consistency throughout the year. It began by awarding points when weekly and monthly thresholds were achieved. The club crowns a person(s) with the most points and most km’s each year.

We have learned a lot from the data gathered each year the club as the club has grown, and the rules have been adapted so that the consistency element remains but opportunities to score more points have been created, and therefore keep a level of competition alive.

The Strava ‘Club’ feature is limited on functionality, so I have created a Google Doc to track the progress throughout the year. As you can imagine, the administration is quite laborious, and it would be good if Strava could develop a ‘group challenge’ function or perhaps enhance the current ‘Club’ function.

I have a plethora of suggestions such as:

    • ‘Club’ API to allow users to integrate to external software (google docs in this instance)
    • Business Intelligence/reporting tool to allow admins to extract data
    • More functionality such as thresholds (only runs over ‘x’ km’s or only runs under 8km per hour etc etc)

Strava could benefit by limiting this to subscribers only.

Is there anything in the Strava roadmap which will be looking as such things or perhaps suggestion on how this can be done better using existing tools?

  • Hello - I have to agree with the above, i am wanting to do a challenge for my friends and colleagues to be able to participate whether they walk, run or cycle but the 'club' will only allow one sport to be counted and recognised on the leader board. Would have thought this day and age all sporting activities would be counted in any 'challenge' Would also be good to be able to award people 'badges' for their efforts and achievements.

  • Hi Dennis, thank you for responding to our suggestions on behalf of Strava. Would there be any chance we could see Walking/Hiking included as a Club activity earlier than in summer? And what about seeing monthly Club reports?

I think that everybody would appreciate to see which of our suggestions have been already added to your roadmap of updates. Thanks for considering it. Much appreciated.

  • Would it really be that difficult to allow a club to be set up as just a walking club or any other activity type for that matter? Especially seeing as so many people have taken up the paid membership? At the moment I'm not sure if I'll renew mine.

  • I want to allow an 'Other' activity leaderboard count in Strava clubs. It will allow me to implement club leaderboards for other groups/activities (other than run, swim, bike), such as walking groups. The reason that is important is because there is a large population of users who walk (or do other sports) and would like to have a leaderboard. An example of when I needed that was any time I have walked, or participated in a walking group.
This SHOULD BE important to STRAVA because it would engage a much wider userbase, making it more dominant in the competition space.

  • I would like to allow club leaderboards to become monthly in order to award club members based on months rather than weeks! This gives the feeling of a distance challenge, which is also not a feature. I think that this will also be a helpful feature for clubs who wish to see an annual leaderboard, as the 12 months are more easily referenced than the 52 weeks. Thanks and Happy New Year!

  • Same as that Roy. People just not bothering signing up when they are told they have to record walks as runs in order to appear on the leaderboard.

In the U.K. the number of walking events, charity fundraisers etc... seems to be booming. That’s thousands of people doing a lot of training/preparation who will never be runners, cyclists, triathletes. Potentially thousands of new subscribers.

  • As previously mentioned by others, could we have the ability to chose the activity type or types for a club?
So that, for example, a paddleboarding club could select that activity and only that activity appears in its leader board.
Some clubs have distance challenges each month and the leader board does not count this activity. So currently the leader of the board is the person that has cycled or ran the most and may not even have paddled at all.
Currently it is very difficult for whoever may be running a challenge to quickly and accurately get the information that they require with the strava evidence on offer.
I have heard from paid subscription members that they thought that by people paying for strava that these sorts of little improvements would be made quicker due to the extra funding.

  • I want to set up a club to see how far my colleagues can walk in March. Don't want running or cycling just walking for one month. I see plenty of similar requests but no replies. Am I looking in the wrong place!?

  • Please allow us to select which activities can be on the leaderboard.  Not just ride, run and swim is important to clubs.

  • Just joined a club and to my amazement, hiking and walking are not supported activities on the leaderboard.  WHAT??  Many people can't run, don't own/can't afford a bike, and don't/can't afford to swim -- but STILL WALK DAILY FOR EXERCISE. Why on earth does Strava NOT support the most popular exercise activity available, for free, to the average person?   Bloody elite athlete attitude, if you're not a runner/swimmer/cyclist you're not exercising?

  • Hello,

I have a simple suggestion to increase to usefulness of Club Events Routes.

I would like club members to have the ability to save events’ route into their own Strava profiles (‘My Routes’). Some bike computers, like the Wahoo ELEMNT, are able to automatically sync routes with Strava. This feature would allow members to very easily have access to the event route on their bike computers. The reason that is important is because there currently is no convenient way to access an event’s route on a bike computer without exporting and emailing the route GPX, which is very cumbersome.

For instance, a club manager creates an event with a route. This generates email notifications to members. Members click on ‘View Event’ in the email. If the member is on mobile, it opens the event in the Strava App. Somewhere on the event page in the app, there should be an option to save the route to one’s Strava profile. Once the route is in the member’s Strava profile (‘My routes’), and the member open their Wahoo ELEMNT app (or other Strava friendly bike computer app), the apps automatically sync and add the routes in the Strava profile to the bike computer. Done!

  • Set up a club (Emigrating from Facebook group and google sheets) with that challenge of completing the year (2021 in this case) in distance. However, there is no way to show members distance for the year even though it is calculated by strava on each members individual page. Multi sport also shows time rather than distance. Being able to either join or set up a distance challenge over a full year is really needed.
