Sufferscore used for Weekly/Monthly Training Analysis

It would make premium more worth the money for cyclists without a powermeter if we could analyse training history by week, month, for example. Eg total suffer score for the week, month could be used. Similar to Training Peaks TSS score?

  • I agree with the total suffer score idea - I think it would be really useful to have a way to track overall workload (which is what I understand Suffer Score to broadly represent) rather than just tracking time, distance (both just representations of volume) or elevations.  Adding suffer score to the  options in the attached views would be great.

  • Couldn't agree more. I use TrainerRoad for my indoor workouts and would really benefit from knowing the added TSS acheived from my outdoor rides - for which Strava is by far the best tool in measuring ride quality

  • Periodisation of training load and overload is key to increasing performance, so a view of workload vs timescale is a very desirable feature. At the moment I use total work (kJ) per session added up each week in an excel spreadsheet. As per the comments from Sam above, having a quick view on the main training page per week would be great.

  • Agree. It will be very useful to have TSS-week/monthly and even the IF/sufferscore trend. The premium account will be more valuable with these features.

  • This would be a great addition to the training log, at present i track my sufferscore on a separate excel spreadsheet but it would save so much time if this was automated.

  • Suffer score added to the training would be great as I also use it as an indication of how good a workout i'm getting.

  • In addition it should be possible to use suffer scores to specify a weekly training goal. So besides distance and time it should be possible to plan the actual training load for the week, i.e. to specify the intended total amount of suffer scores for a week. I would highly appreciate that!

  • +1 for adding TSS to the training log page. It would be really useful for keeping on track while mixing together indoor trainer rides, outdoor group rides and everything in between.

  • For premium users, there should be an option to order the training log by suffer score (the defaults at the moment only include distance,time and elevation). A later extra feature would allow the user to select a sub-set of all metrics and they would appear in the display by dropdown.

  • Agreed. In fact, I would go so far as to say that there is absolutely no point, from a training point of view, to the suffer score without this kind of weekly / monthly load view.

  • To be honest, because of the lack of useful tools for suffer score analysis, I stopped wearing my HRM to capture the data.  A bit disappointing really.
    As a triathlete, I would also like to see SS from run activities combined into a daily/weekly/monthly form of analysis, so workload could be tracked.  I would have though this would be fairly easy to add into the Training Log and maybe also create some additional charts.

  • They have :-) (Trainer Road). It’s in beta and it’s perfect - don’t need premium strava now!
