HeatMaps as GPX

I have successfully used a Heat Map to explore an area and find new trails on the PC.
However, it needs to be on my phone (GPS so I can display my current position).
I have taken a snap shot of the heat map, put into a GIS for georegistration and autodigisted the map exported in KML and finally converted into GPX.
This worked really well as I could see where all the runs were in my local area. (file was a bit big and takes a long time to load into GPX Viewer)
(I think some of the segments are displayed on strava maps but they are so faint I cant see them, and most of the time the map does not appear anyway)
To save me a lot of bother maybe Strava can make the Heat maps available as a GPX download for a selected area?

(might be able to get OSMand+ to do turn by turn audio then)

  • I fully agree. The kind of feature I would definitely pay for premium if it would be avaiable there.

  • Any type of "Heatmaps to go" would be awesome. I assume GPX is not something Strava could provide, that data is too complex. However, if I had the option to select "heat map" in my Strava App as my base map that would work for me.
