How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

  • Can hours get added to gear tracking?  Currently maintenance intervals on bikes is in hours. This applies to commuter, road, gravel and mountain bikes. Some examples are hydraulic braking systems and air and hydraulic suspension systems on all types of bikes.  This would prevent one from having to use another app or spreadsheet for maintenance tracking.

  • A normal walk is currently available, nordic skiing is also available, but not nordic walking, Why not??!! ...which is somewhat differen?!?! Why isn't this available? Why is STRAVA silent on this topic?! We need this!! I want to map the right activity. I pay you for that and I don't get something that simple! Otherwise the app would be so perfect but without this activity I will have to leave Strava. *shakes head

  • Please consider including total distance and time data for each activity a member engages in -- not just biking or running -- in your personalized year end report.  Or provide some other way for even basic users to view or download totals for each activity over a given period of time.

    These totals, for skating, kayaking, walking, skiing would help capture what my year was all about, and help me monitor in a rough way how my activity level is changing from year to year.

  • Please add Physical Therapy and/or Stretching to the list of activities.  Also please consider providing customized activity sorting in the app, to put those activities most used (say over the past 6 months) at the top of the list.

    These changes would make it easier to use Strava as the only activity tracking app, and the only source for Apple Health data.

  • Hello,

    Would it be possible to add a feature on the Apple Watch, which would allow to launch "laps" as it is the case on watches like Garmin or Polar?
    This would allow a better analysis of split training.

  • Climbed meters for custom workout on slope % basis.

    Strava should take into account the climbing profile generated during customized workout, in order to take into account in the stats, thiese climbed meters too, and not only the ones coming from gps files.

    Furthermore i saw that Garmin Connect, where the custom workout is synchronized first, takes into account the total climbed meters (without drawing the profile in the graphs. Then this activity is synchronized to Strava, but, because is automatically categorized as Virtual, these meters don't count.

    It would be much better to have a full synchronization without loosing data, and also much less frustrating.

  • I would like to be able to customize the "Type of Run".  Currently, we have a very limited number of choices: <default>, Race, Long Run, and Workout.  My training team uses "Quality" and "Medium Long Run" designations in our training plans, and I would love to be able to designate my runs in Strava with those labels.  Can we please have a feature to add new labels to this field?

  • Please add "Nordic Knitting" and "Speed Scrolling" and "Power TV-watching". This is a must for a modern athlete!

    Actually I see a never ending stream of Add New Sport type of requests. I think the only way for Strava to stop it is to add a "User Defined Sport". Then any user could add whatever he/she wants.

  • Ditto to Dovydas S. above .....some people should stop and think about the practicalities of some requests. If the phone app was to have all the things people ask for it would take ages to scroll through the list !

  • I agree with Dovydas and Mike- in fact, I’m not even happy with the distinction between biking and e-biking because it means the distances and times aren’t computed together. I know some people may want to consider the time spent on analog bikes separately from time on electric, but my goal for distance this year is irrespective of which bike I’m on. I’m so tired of waiting for them to give me the features I’m asking for, I decided to write my own.

  • Please add Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as an activity type. It doesn't even have to be that specific; "MMA" would do. I argue that BJJ/MMA is more popular than "kitesurf session" yet the latter has its own activity type to log. I've used Strava for years to log mountain biking & snowboarding activities, and I wish I didn't have to use a separate app to log BJJ. Thanks.

  • Hello STRAVA! I assume you read the comments here? We need "Nordic Walking" as an activity!! When will this be available?!? I hope adding a new activity isn't a big problem for you. I finally want to map the right activity and share it with the community. Nordic walking is so popular! Please do something...

  • When could tennis be incorporated as a new sport within Strava? On my iWatch I capture a tennis match correctly, but on Strava it is only imported as "Workout"

  • As a rower, I want to have a Gear field available for rowing activities to indicate what boat I'm in. Rowing can be in one-person boats up to eight-person boats. I would like to be able to see what proportion of my rows are in different kinds of boats.

    Love the concept2 logbook and rowsandall integrations, btw - the photo of the erg screen is great and it's been super seamless for me!

  • I would like to be able to select the activities that I can see on my apple watch.  There are some I will never use and I would be happier with a shorter list to choose from!

  • Training log only for trainer
    I would like to share my training log with my trainer only. Is it possible to make a special friend/connection that has special viewing rights kn my account?

    I think this really opens up a new area of possibilities for Strava to become more helpful for people who train very seriously but are not prof athletes.

  • Hi Wouter V I think you'll find most people in this category use Training Peaks. Usually it's best to sync to TP from the source (e.g. Garmin / Wahoo / etc), but Apple integration is a bit miss and miss and hit. I've found the in practice it seems to go Apple Watch --> Strava mobile --> TP mobile --> TP main site. If you have a coach, then usually they will invite you to connect to their account, which in turn gives you more features etc. Otherwise you can just use the free tier or obviously decide to pay for it too.

  • As an addition to John Pescatore's request dating oct 7th 2020; 11:15 I'd like to comment that with the strava app you can define more bikes, and the app totals the number of miles/kms per bike.

    An exportable date/odometer table would be handy.

    I would be happy to see a reminder function telling me it's been 12months since I had my fork and frame damper sealings checked/changed, or a reminder function telling me my chain is approaching 1,000 miles and depending on wear (mud vs dry) might be changed. 

    The app could propose a default value, which the user could adapt depending on the weather conditions in the corresponding timerframe

  • I would like to suggest an improvement if possible.

    Namely when I scrolled down to 1 workout from 2017, then selected it to check something out, then pressed the left arrow in the browser aiming to return where I was when selected that workout, Strava took me back all the way to the most recent workout from March 2022.

    I propose that you amend it in a way that it takes me back to where I was when selecting that workout and not taking me back to the very beginning of my scrolling down process.

  • Is there a possibility to add GOLF as a sport?

    When I play it, I use my GARMIN Forerrunner 935 to record the activity and transfer it STRAVA. If you edit the activity, you won´t see GOLF as an activity.

    I´m sure there are several STRAVA users looking forward to this feature.

  • Jan Mantau Nothing prevents me to do so but why should I think about it when the sole purpose of "back arrow" should be to get me back where I was most recently. This is, at least, how I see it. Thx for your comment.

  • Proposal: I feel that hiking shall be given more attention in Strava. It's not o.k. to have running, cycling and swimming only for comparison purposes.

  • Feature request: Add elevation gain in Progress summary for running activities (mobile app)

    I would like to see at a glance the evolution of elevation gain for my running activites. A week with a lot of climbing is exhausting. For trail running activities, it is very important to identify which week has a high value of elevation and which week has not. It will help to plan training, especially rest period, and to highlight intense period of training.

  • Please can we crop non-GPS activities?  I just forgot to stop my weight training activity which had some good heart-rate statistics, but don't want to give myself "credit" for 35 minutes sitting at my desk afterwards; that all counts towards my weekly goal of minutes in the gym.  It'd be so easy to just allow us to edit the time, and then crop off the end of the workout, similar to how we can crop runs and bike rides when we forget to stop the activity at the end.
