As you know, we made some changes to our forum that will enable our small team to do a better job of engaging with you. One of these changes was controlling the creation of new posts and topics. If you cannot find a thread under which to post your comment, you can suggest a new post idea here.

How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

 

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • I want to be able to move components between bicycles, or at least to have the option to enter initial mileage when adding a component. Not everything I put on my bike is brand new, and when mileage is known I'd like to keep that accurate.

  • Bill Johnson you can create an elevation goal for the desired sport type (weekly, monthly or yearly), or you can check your Training Log and filter by Elevation and Sport Type to see your weekly elevation totals. Alternatively, you can create a group challenge for just yourself to keep track of your elevation totals.

  • Susanne B thanks for the feedback, we're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying Recover Athletics. It's currently only available for iOS, however, there is work being done to extend it to our Android athletes later on this year.

    Will you provide dedicated heatmaps and stats for the new activities as well?

  • I really like the privacy controls. It would be great to be able to see what your feed looks like to followers, public, and specific Strava users. This would let you see what data, maps, etc were visible to the various groups in your privacy settings.

  • Training Calendar:

    In North America, please be advised that "MONDAY" is NOT the 1st Day of the week in the training calendar. The "FIRST' day of the week is 👉SUNDAY👈. As a result, your software is calculating "Weekly Totals" incorrectly.

    Bear in mind that GARMIN definitely knows what the FIRST day of the week is, along with Apple, Google, and also Microsoft.

    Please provide Users with an option to adjust the "FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK". Almost any meaningful Calendar Application has this function.

  • I want to be able to type in a search for segments by name.

    It will allow me to search for tracks without waiting for the map to load and having to hover over the location.

    The reason that this is important is because I know the name of the track, but I didn't know the name of the ssegment.

    An example of when I needed that was searching for a track earlier today with my friend to see if people were already running there and if it is available over the summer.

  • I want to be able to create fan clubs via group pages for local marathons and brands.

    It will allow me to stay connected with people in the community who are interested in the races and brands and to connect regarding events taking place around the marathon. 

    The reason that this is important is because sometimes the official company is not managing the group pages. 

    An example of when I needed this was trying to find other runners who are interested in discussing Asics shoes and running the Asics 5K event during the World Athletic Championships in Oregon.

  • Could you please add the option to allow us to zoom into the time graph (Pace/Gap/Heart Rate/Cadence....) and also show this selection in the map above (like a part of the route (in blue) will indicate the zoomed area).

    With this we could have better statistics for a part of the exercise. For example you do a interval training and one part is to run 2k and you want to see the Cadence or Heart Rate only for that section. Or zoom in to a specific section like a big clime

    Without zooming the cadence could go from 0 to 180, when zoomed in it could go from 160-180.

    Also the graph skips lots of minutes and when zoomed that data could be made visible

    And while talking about graphs, please have a look at highcharts, there are better ways to display all stats

  • Allow users to search public routes by location, distance, etc. The autogenerated routes are nice but when visiting new areas its nice to be able to search for what locals do.

    Could the iPhone widget be updated to support any sport? Not just swimming/running/cycling? It’s the ski season - too cold for cycling 🥶

  • As a user I would like to set a default eBike for my eBike rides so that I don't have to manually change the bike after each ride since I have different bike set as default bike for regular bike rides.

  • Please let us, NOT YOU, choose what stats are shown on our dashboards for activities.
    I now do speed walking due to a running injury but the dashboard will not show my pace!! It always shows walking elevation instead of pace. I’m trying to get faster not higher!! (Totally understand having elevation for hikes - but not walks). Thanks

  • Is it possible to get 'Unicycling' added as a discipline to the list of 'other sports'. I see hand cycling has made it on there. Would be nice to see unicycling as and many other ride them often and it's disappointing there is no category to capture these.

  • It would be great if I could hide photos (some of them or all of them) uploaded to my activities, but still leave the activity set to 'Everyone'. Some of my activites I use as diary (most often hikes) -- I upload photos to them; I'd like to show, where I was, the distance I travelled etc. and also I'd love these activities to count into groups stats (when they're set to 'only me' it doesn't happen) -- however pictures should be seen only for me. Now I can jot down some private notes and public notes -- the same I'd like to do with photos.

  • Do not default to 3D map for activity feed (mtb/hike/etc)

    The new change to have activities in feed that are trail related showing as a 3D activity map is ugly and unreadable. Requesting to please revert back to the normal 2D map be the default for all activities. 

    You tell me which is easier to see and gather information from.

  • I have upgraded from a Stages power meter to dual-sided Favero Assioma pedals, and discovered with disappointment that the L/R balance data is ignored and stripped by Strava from the rides uploaded from Wahoo. For a while I've used Strava as the main hub to collect and distribute my ride data, but it turns out it's not fit for that purpose. Why am I even paying for the premium subscription if it's just for sharing tracks and photos with friends?

  • Heart rate settings to individual sports

    The idea is to be able to set HR zones for individual sports.
    Im mostly doing running, biking and swimming and all 3 sports now use in the analyses the same HR settings. It would be usefull to be able and set HR zones for the sports differently as for example my HR for running can be higher as to my HR zones for biking.

    This would make the analyses of the sessions more reliable.

  • Option to link multiple activities into one Feed entry

    For instance a commute to and from work, warm-ups with races or any other activity with gap(s). This would give the opportunity for one set of comments and kudos rather than multiple lesser entries.

  • I'd love to see a "suppress notifications until my next activity" option implemented. If I'm sick or injured, it's unhelpful to get repeated notifications that my mileage compares unfavorably to the previous week or that I'm lagging behind my goals.

  • When traveling, I like to scope out local routes/segments, it would be nice to engage with users that are willing to via opt-in (or opt out to not be bothered) and see questions/comments.

     

    For example, if I see a segment/route like a school track, I can ask if the school track is open to public and/or what hours are best to visit the track.

    Another example is if I see a segment/route that looks sketchy b/c of the road width, I can ask about best time of day to run or how busy the traffic is.

     

    Then users that opt in can get notifications of questions if they've ran the segment/route and can answer questions.  The trick would be how to make it engaging in a positive way and not in a bothersome way.  An example of bothersome is how you can ask a question on amazon for a product and people get spammed and people reply like "I don't know, I'm not the manufactuer, why are you asking me?"

  • I propose to make a separate activity type for openwater swimming Vs pool swimming. I would like to have separate stats for openwater Vs pool swimming. I believe this is very important to differentiate as this are different type of activity and involve different skills and equipment. Exactly the same way we now differentiate between MTB vs road and gravel cycling and Trail Vs treadmill or road running. Please consider to add this feature asap, I believe this is very important for the swimming and triathlon community.

  • Hello,

    I need your software development team to fix this common issue. Saving and discarding a workout from my apple watch after a workout. When ending a ride on my apple watch the "save" and "discard" buttons are so close to each other that my sweaty fingers think it pushed one, but it registered the other. If it is going to discard, can a second window pop up saying are you sure? What if the discard button wasn't there at all and people could go and delete accidentally recorded sessions after the fact. I hate losing my workout after the end of a long ride.
