Separate Stats by Activity Type in Training Calendar (cycling, running)

Hi,

I'm new to Strava and have just been exploring the training calendar. I was wondering whether it's possible to split the training calendar by activity type, so I only see my total miles for running or cycling or walking etc? At the moment I can see my total miles but can't see how many are running.

  • I'm also looking for this feature - being able to see the total kilometers for just running or just biking would be very useful.

  • I'm also new and would love for this feature to be added- seems like a quick fix and maybe it's already possible, but I don't see it.

  • +1 for sure!  Would just like to see a filter for "All | Biking | Running"

    I'm primarily a runner, but bike to/from work, and would love to look at my yearly overview while cutting out the rides.

  • I posted about this months ago, shortly after which a friend turned me on to traininingpeaks.com and I haven't been back to Strava until I got these emails about new comments.  Strava is good for the segment stuff and if you're just a biker, but without ability to track total running miles, I'd go elsewhere (traningpeaks, garmin connect, mapmyrun)

  • I agree that Strava really needs to implement the ability to filter by just running and just biking. I love Strava, but this is an area that is sorely lacking from them. This one thing is what prevents me from sticking solely with Strava. Marc's mockup is a good one, and would be simple to implement.

  • Very good suggestion. I'm a multi sport kind of guy and would like to see my total km's per activity in the Training Calendar.

  • +1'd this, would be really nice insight I can especially use now as I'm trying to overcome an training overload of my knee mostly related to running....wonder if it's a lot of work.

  • I have no idea why this hasn't been implemented yet. It would be a very simple fix, and very useful for the end users. I can't even use Strava to look back on historical stats because it is useless without being able to filter down to just running, or just biking.

    The activities graph on our profile pages would be another location that would be awesome to be able to filter to just running or biking. Just add buttons like Marc suggested earlier (All, Running, Cycling) (https://strava.zendesk.com/attachments/token/eljvec3mjoia0yt/?name=Traning+Filter+Mockup.jpeg) and that graph all of a sudden becomes way more useful.

    I really wish this would be added so that I can stop having to upload to multiple sites.

  • From reading about the Strava V3 API, i'm guessing this feature will be pretty easy to implement by strava or some third party dev, once the V3 api goes live.

  • In case someone's unaware and finds this helpful, you can see the current week's bar + bars for 4 preceding weeks in Weekly Progress at the top right of the dashboard (above "Upcoming Goal").

    Please release this feature soon!

  • It's really amazing that nobody from Strava ever commented on this tread. The web page is called "Strava Customer Support" but it looks more like customers are left alone complaining about the missing features of Strava... I agree with all previous comments: this filter on activites' type is really a "must have" and not a "nice to have", and it does not seem that complex to implement!

  • It's a great idea - the total miles figures don't tell you much if you use strava for both running and cycling.  I would be really pleased to see this implemented. In both the training calendar and the graph on your profile page.

  • I too would like to see Strava have the capability to sort rides from hikes, runs, etc., and get yearly or monthly totals.  But also, I would like to see how much of my riding is road vs. mountain, and see some use put to the "commute" box I check on my rides to and from work!  I check the box, but it has no use that I can see.  I'd love to know how much I commute per year!  This seems to just be simple spread-sheet type programming, right???
