Club Messaging brings real-time conversation directly into your Strava club. Club admins can share announcements and keep their community updated, and members can coordinate, ask questions, and celebrate together, all within Strava.
About Club Messaging
Club Messaging gives clubs with two or more members a dedicated space for discussion, organized into channels. Each channel is a focused space for a specific topic or purpose. All channels are open to all club members; there are no private or invite-only channels. Strava users under 18 will not have access to Club Messaging.
Only admins can post, but all members can react. This is the place for important updates, event logistics, and news the whole club needs to see.
Open conversation. Spaces that admins create around specific subjects (e.g., "Coffee Runs," "Gear Recommendations," "Weekend Training"). Members can browse available channels and join the ones relevant to them

From the Global Messaging Hub — Tap the message icon in the top-right corner of the home screen to see all your club channels and direct messages in one place.
From In-App Notifications — Tap a notification for a new channel or message to go directly to that channel.
For Club Admins
Setting up Club Messaging
When Club Messaging starts, all clubs with fewer than 20,000 members will have an announcements channel automatically created for your club. All current members are automatically added, and new members are added to Announcements when they join your club. Admins can edit this announcement channel at any time.
The first time you visit your Club Detail Page after Club Messaging becomes available, you'll see a welcome module that introduces the feature. Tap into this and make an announcement to post your first message and let members know Club Messaging is live.
Creating a new channel
From the Club Hub, admins can create additional channels to organize conversations by topic.
From your Club Detail Page, tap the message icon to open the Club Hub, or open the Global Messaging Hub and tap or click your club.
Tap Create new channel and enter a channel name and an optional description.
Choose who can post, All club members or Admins only.
Choose how members are added: Add all club members automatically (current and future) or Club members can opt in.
Tap or click Create channel.
Members will receive a notification when a new channel is created. Your club can have up to 100 channels.
Managing your channels
From the Club Hub, you can manage all of your club's channels in one place. To access settings for a specific channel, open the channel and tap or click the settings icon. From Channel Settings, admins can change the channel name, change who can post, view members, change how members are added, and mute, leave, or delete the channel.
When you delete a channel, you'll be asked to confirm before it's permanently removed.
Removing a member from a channel
Removing a member from a channel does not remove them from the club, and they can rejoin the channel later. To remove a member:
Open the channel and tap or click the settings icon.
Tap or click Members to view the member list.
Tap or click the member you want to remove and select Remove from channel.
Posting in an Announcement channel
In channels where only admins can post, the message bar will not be visible to members. Admins can:
Send a message — Type in the message bar and tap Send.
Reply to a message — Press and hold (mobile) a message and tap Reply. Replies are threaded to the original message.
React to a message — Press and hold (mobile) a message and select an emoji. Reactions are visible to everyone.
Share content — Tap the attachment icon to share a Strava Route, Event, or Club, or paste a URL.
Create a poll — Tap the attachment icon, select Poll, add your question and answer options, and post. Members tap, vote, and results update in real time.
Pin a message — Pin important messages so they stay visible in the channel for all members.
For Club Members
Finding and Joining Channels
When you join a club, you're automatically added to all channels set to auto-join. For opt-in channels, you can browse what's available and join the ones that interest you.
From the Club Detail Page, tap the message icon to open the Club Hub. Or tap the Global Messaging icon from the Home page or tab and select a club.
You'll see channels you're already in, plus available channels you haven't joined. Tap Join to become a member of a channel.
You can leave any channel at any time without leaving the club. Channels you've left will still appear in your available list so you can rejoin whenever you want.
Members Channel Options
In channels that allow all members to post, you can:
Send a message — Type in the message bar and tap or click Send. You can also @mention another member in a message.
Reply to a message — Press and hold (mobile) a message and tap or click Reply. Replies are threaded to the original message.
React to a message — Press and hold (mobile) a message and select an emoji. Reactions are visible to everyone.

Managing your notification and channel settings
To mute a specific channel, open the channel, tap or click the settings icon, and toggle Mute conversation on.
To mute all channels for a club, open the Club Hub, tap the club settings icon, and toggle Mute all channels.
To manage your global messaging preferences, tap the settings icon in the Global Messaging Hub. Options include showing when you're online and who can message you (Following, Mutuals, or No One).
Leaving a channel
Open the channel, tap the settings icon, select Leave channel, and confirm. Leaving a channel does not remove you from the club, and the channel will appear in your available list so you can rejoin at any time.
If you leave the club entirely, you'll be removed from all of that club's channels. You can rejoin a public club at any time. For private clubs, you'll need to request to rejoin.
Reporting a message or channel
Strava is committed to keeping Club Messaging a safe and positive space. If you see content that violates Strava’s Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, or Community Standards, you can report it.
To report a message: Long-press the message and tap Report message. Follow the prompts to describe the issue. Your report will be reviewed by Strava's Trust & Safety team.
