FAQs

Can I hide my heart rate data by default?

You cannot set a default preference for your heart rate data. By default, your heart rate data will be shown to other athletes, but you will always have the option to adjust this setting on the edit or upload screen.

Can I still see my own heart rate?

Yes, you will still be able to see your heart rate data on your activities.

If I hide my heart rate, will it still contribute to training features like Fitness and Freshness or Relative Effort?

Yes, hidden heart rate data will still count towards these features.

Can I bulk update old activities so that my heart rate is hidden?

No, it is not currently possible to update this setting in bulk.

How is this different than approving/denying Strava from processing health-related data?

Hiding heart rate will allow you to continue seeing this data on your activities, but hide it from other athletes. Denying Strava consent to process and store your health-related data will remove heart rate data entirely. It will be stripped from your activity files so neither you nor anyone else will see it.
