How to Find Segments on the Strava Website

Use the Segment Explore Feature

From the Strava website, open the Maps page and select Segments. A sampling of segments in the given area based on many factors. Zoom in, zoom out, or enter a location, and Strava will offer the most popular segments in that area. Here are some tips for making the most of Segment Explore:

  • Use the sport picker to choose between sport types.
      • Click the segments drop-down menu to filter by length and surface type 
      • Cycling and running segments have additional options to filter for flat, steep, or hilly segments.
  • Click on a segment in the map or the list to see a brief description of the segment details, the KOM time, and your best time if you've recorded an activity that matches it.

Search for Segments by Name or Keyword

From the Strava website, click the search icon in the navigation menu and select “Segments”. From there, you can search for segments by keyword or the full segment name. Please be aware that newer or less popular segments may not appear in search results. If you want to save the segment for future reference, remember to star the segment.

Find Segments you've Created

If you've ever created a segment, the segment can be found in your list of created segments. From the Strava website, navigate to Dashboard > My Segments, then select the Created Segments tab.

See where you're First on the Leaderboard

If you have the fastest recorded time on any segment, you can find the list on your profile on the website. From your profile, find the tab, My KOMs/QOMs/CRs.
