We are excited to announce that Strava is acquiring Runna, the coaching app that helps runners train smarter with personalized plans for the 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon.
This brings us closer to what Strava is all about: helping you achieve your goals. Runna’s flexible coaching meets you where you are and keeps you going, whether you’re just getting into it or chasing a new personal best.
This is just the beginning. There’s so much more to come (including for cyclists–stay tuned). In the meantime, join Team Runna on Strava and learn more from Mike, Strava’s CEO, and Dom, Runna’s Co-founder and CEO.
FAQs
Do I now get access to Runna? Will the Strava and Runna subscriptions be combined?
Runna is a standalone business and will continue to operate as such for the foreseeable future. Runna Premium is not linked to Strava Premium, but both platforms offer robust free features that we encourage you to explore.
Will Strava sunset the application in the near term? Or longer-term?
No, Strava is investing in Runna for the long term. We plan to invest in growing the Runna team and further accelerate the development of the Runna app.
How do I connect to Runna from Strava?
You can link your accounts using the existing Runna/Strava integration, which has been available for over 2 years.
Will other training apps that connect to Strava be impacted?
Strava remains firmly committed to maintaining its role as the open platform for fitness and to supporting all developers, including those focused on the training space. We intend to operate Runna and Strava as separate businesses for the foreseeable future. We are thrilled to recognize the success of someone who has been building with our APIs since 2022.
