What Is Flyby?
Flyby is a Strava Labs tool that lets you play back your activity, as well as those near you, on a map and timeline.
Managing Your Flyby Privacy Controls
-
On the web, hover over your profile picture in the top right and select Settings.
- Click on the "Privacy Controls" tab on the left.
- Select "Everyone" or "No One” under “Flyby.”
-
On the mobile app, open your settings from the icon in the upper right corner of the You tab.
- Select "Privacy Controls" on the next page.
- Select "Flybys" to choose between “Everyone” or “No One.”
How It Works
You can access your Flyby by clicking View Flybys on your activity details page on the web. Alternatively, you can manually enter your activity ID into the Flyby tool.
You have the ability to opt out of this feature entirely if you do not want your activities to be included in Flybys.
-
When you select Everyone:
- All Strava athletes:
- Will be able to see if you crossed paths or were nearby on a Flyby.
- Will be able to click your Flyby avatar to open your Strava activity.
- Anyone on the web:
- Will be able to replay your Flyby if they have a link to your activity.
- All Strava athletes:
-
When you select No One:
- No One:
- Will be able to see you on Flybys, not even yourself. You can still view other athletes' Flybys if they have the setting enabled.
- No One:
In order to see the Flyby feature appear on one of your activities, the following conditions must both be true:
- The activity’s privacy control must be set to “Everyone”.
- Your Strava account’s Flyby privacy control must be set to “Everyone”.
Flyby pages will not display other athletes for any activity recorded before February 6th, 2024.
