Strava will display the start point location of activities recorded with GPS below your name in both the feed and on the activity details page. The location information is sourced from OpenStreetMap. If you are in the same country where the activity was recorded, you will see the city and state. If you are outside of the country where the activity was recorded, you will see the city/region and country.
If you have set your map visibility controls to completely hide your map, the activity location will only be visible to you.
Within the country, you'll see the city and state displayed below your name. Outside the country, you'll see the city, region, and country displayed instead.
