The Weekly Heatmap

The Weekly Heatmap on Strava shows ‘heat’ generated by your activities with the visibility set to “Everyone” over the last seven days. Visit strava.com/maps to see the heatmap for your area. Strava users can also view their Personal Heatmap alongside a Global Heatmap at strava.com/maps.

How it works

    • The Weekly Heatmap is a snapshot of the last seven days of data and is updated every 24 hours.
    • The Weekly Heatmap is only available to Strava Subscribers.
    • Activities with the privacy settings "Only You" or “Followers” are automatically excluded from the Weekly Heatmap.
    • We also exclude all portions of activities hidden using your map visibility settings (hide address, hide start/end, hide entire map).
    • Athletes may opt out of aggregated data usage by updating their privacy controls. After opting out, an athlete’s contributions to the Weekly Heatmap will be removed at the next daily update.
    • Roads, trails, or other areas with very little activity will not show “heat” until several athletes upload activities in the area.
    • Use the sport picker to choose between different sport types.

From the Strava website

    • All Sports: All sport types. (Excludes virtual activities)
    • All Foot Sports: Run, Trail Run, Walk, Hike.
    • All Cycle Sports: Ride, Handcycle, Wheelchair, Velomobile, E-Bike Ride, Mountain Bike Ride, Gravel Bike Ride, E-Mountain Bike Ride.
