Strava permits athletes who are over the age of 13 years old to create an account.
Our new terms and policy are especially protective of health-related data, so if you’re under 16, you won’t be able to upload heart rate data or receive heart rate analysis. We made this choice in part because of new data protection laws in the EU. We believe these laws will become global best practices and are implementing them for all Strava athletes. We know this might be frustrating if you don’t live in the EU or ever plan to visit, but we want to establish a fair standard for all Strava athletes that also demonstrates our commitment to their privacy and safety.
Strava provides an alternate set of default privacy controls for a new account when you are under 18 years old. To learn more about your default privacy control settings when under 18, read this article.
