Redeeming a Gifted Subscription

Strava now offers gift subscriptions, allowing you to purchase a year’s worth of premium features for your family members or friends. You can buy an annual gift subscription from the Strava website, with a limit of one per purchase.

Redeeming a Gift

If someone purchases a Strava subscription for you, you will receive an email with a unique redemption link. Follow the instructions in the email to redeem your gift. If you are already a subscriber through the Strava website, you can still redeem your gifted subscription. However, if you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you will need to cancel your subscription and wait for it to expire before redeeming the gifted subscription. If you are currently in a free subscription preview, redeeming the gift subscription will give you feature access until one year from the date the gift subscription was redeemed.

If you have an active subscription purchased through the Strava website, redeeming the gift subscription will extend your feature access and renewal date by one year. Your subscription will renew as normal at the end of the year extension.

When your mobile subscription has expired, you can redeem the gift by following the instructions or the redemption link from the Gift email. At the end of the year extension, you will need to resubscribe.

Can I buy a gift subscription from the App Store or Google Play?

No, gift subscriptions are only available through the Strava website.

How long do I have to redeem my gift? 

All gift subscriptions must be redeemed within 12 months of the purchase date.

Can I gift a monthly subscription?

Currently, you can only gift an annual subscription.

Can I give a gift to someone who is already subscribed?

Yes, if they subscribed from the Strava website, they can redeem their gift anytime prior to its expiration, and it will extend their subscription by another 12 months.

If they subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, they must cancel their current subscription and wait for it to expire to redeem their gift. Don't worry; all their subscription features and data will be carried over.

Can a Strava gift subscription be refunded?

Gift subscriptions may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase. If the gift was redeemed, the recipient's subscription will automatically be downgraded back to free.
