Troubleshooting Syncing

There are a few reasons why your Mi Fitness activities may not be syncing to Strava.

  • Your device may not be connected to the phone via Bluetooth.
      • To check if your device is connected to the phone via Bluetooth, for Android, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth and look for your device. For iOS, go to Settings > Bluetooth and look for your device under My Devices.
  • Your device may have been disconnected from Strava.
      • To check permissions, on your phone, go to Settings > Applications. Check the permissions section of each app, Strava, and Mi Fitness, to ensure all permissions have been granted.
  • Bad or corrupted data coverage areas can cause sync issues.
      • Check your data coverage area, both Strava and Mi Fitness need an active internet connection to load, refresh, or sync data between them. If syncing fails, check you are in a good data coverage area.
      • Make sure you have a strong signal before starting an activity and that your device is up to date with the latest firmware. Lastly, check that your Mi Fitness app is updated.

If, after recording a new activity, you are still noticing the same issue, please reach out to Mi Fitness support for additional troubleshooting steps. You can find support for your location here.

FAQ’s

My activity does not have GPS, can I still sync it from Mi Fitness to Strava?

Mi Fitness activities that do not contain GPS data can sync to Strava but they will not include the distance data we need to process this information. Without it, we are unable to add distance to these activities. You can continue to sync your Mi Fitness activities to Strava as they are currently syncing, or you can choose to create manual activities using the data available in the Mi Fitness app. You can learn more about creating a manual activity here.
