Power and Cadence Data from Apple Health

Cycling activity data recorded on Apple's native Workout app with a power meter and/or cadence sensor will now sync to Strava. Please follow the steps in this article, to connect your Apple Health to your Strava account.

Compatible Devices

Indoor and outdoor cycling activities recorded with the Apple Workout app will include power and cadence data if those sensors are connected to the watch. Power and cadence data is displayed on the activity detail page within the mobile app and web.

Ensure you’ve allowed Strava to read power and cadence data. To make sure Strava can access your power and cadence data, take the following steps:

    • From your iPhone, go to your settings and select: Health > Data Access & Devices > Strava > Toggle all available options on.
    • Accept all health data permissions.
    • Accept the new permissions from Apple Health, even if you have previously connected with Health. Open Strava and tap on the Settings icon, then Manage Apps & Devices > Health > and tap  ‘Connect with Health’. New activities will now display power and cadence if available in the file.

Please be aware that only activities recorded with the Apple Watch Workout app recorded within the past 30 days are able to sync to Strava. Activities uploaded to the Health app from a third party will not sync to Strava.

FAQ

Why aren't my cadence and power data displayed on Strava after I synced my cycling activity from the Apple Fitness app?

To see cycling power & cadence information from Healthkit on your Strava app, you'll need iOS 17+, watchOS 10+, and Strava app version 403+. Please also ensure you've accepted the necessary data permissions by following the steps above, even if you've done so previously.

What about running power and cadence data from Health?

Strava only supports running power data from Healthkit. We do not support cadence information at this time. To view power data for your running activities on the activity details page in the mobile app, ensure you have granted the necessary data permissions. Power data will not be displayed on the web and it will not be factored into an athlete’s Fitness & Freshness or Power Curve.
