Connecting the WHOOP Band as a Heart Rate Monitor

The Whoop band can be used as a Bluetooth heart rate monitor to broadcast heart rate while recording with the Strava mobile app.

  • From the WHOOP App settings > Strap Settings > toggle HR Broadcast on.
  • From the Strava App, select Record from the bottom navigation menu > settings (gear icon). Learn more about Pairing Sensors with the Strava app.

Double-check that your Whoop is in broadcast mode if you see the WHOOP connected, but your heart rate isn't being recorded.

FAQ's

My WHOOP band is not sending consistent heart rate data to Strava.

This may be due to an issue with your WHOOP device broadcasting heart rate data. Please try removing the band from your wrist and letting it go to sleep for 30 seconds until you see no more flashing lights. After waking the band back up, pair it again through the WHOOP app on your mobile device.
