Confirming Your Age on Strava

To sign up for Strava, you must be at least 13 years old (or older, as may be required where you live).

Age Verification

In certain regions, Strava may be required by law to confirm your age in addition to the birthday you declare. When required, Strava uses age assurance tools provided by Apple and Google to verify your age range — without accessing your personal information, such as your date of birth.

How this works depends on your device and your account type:

  • For teens: A parent or guardian sets each teen's age range through Apple's or Google's parental controls. Strava then retrieves that age range from Apple or Google to confirm eligibility.
  • For adults: Your age range is based on the age you've set in your Apple or Google account settings.

If you are asked to confirm your age, the information you provide for verification is solely for the purpose of confirming your age. This information will not be visible on your Strava profile to your followers or to other Strava users.

Managing Your Age Information

You can manage and edit your age in Strava's profile settings. If you need to change the birthday connected to your Apple account, click here. To manage your child's Google account, you can use Family Link.
