Strava can read your heart rate in real time from Apple Health when you track it with your AirPods Pro 3. This feature is only available on iOS 18 or later.
Pair Your AirPods with Strava
To use your AirPods for heart rate tracking:
- Turn on your AirPods Pro 3 and ensure they're connected to your iPhone.
- Open the Strava app and tap Record to start recording an activity.
- Your heart rate will appear live on the recording screen.
If your heart rate isn't displaying during a recording, please check the following:
- Open the Health app on your iPhone and navigate to Strava. Tap Allow All to grant both read and write permissions.
- Verify device compatibility: Live heart rate tracking via AirPods requires iOS 18 or later and AirPods Pro 3.
- Start recording: Heart rate data only displays during an active recording, not before you start.
