Browse Events on Mobile

Event Browse lets you find local events all in one place. Browse by location, sport type, format, and more from the Strava app.

How Browse Events Works

Events automatically populate within a 20-mile radius of your current location. If you've set Running or Cycling as your primary sport type on your profile, events for that sport type appear by default. To change the sport type, tap the sport type dropdown on the Browse Events screen. To update your primary sport type, go to "Profile" and select "Edit Profile."

Only public events appear in Browse Events. If a Club is private but hosts public events, those events will still be visible to you.

Each event listing shows the following details: date, meet-up location, format (social, workout, or competition), hosting Club, Verified badge (if applicable), total Club members, and how many people have RSVP'd, including any friends.

How to Find Events

  1. From the Strava app, navigate to the "Groups" tab.
  2. Select the "Clubs" tab.
  3. Tap "Browse Events."

How to Filter Events

  1. Tap the "Filter" button on the Browse Events screen.
  2. Adjust any of the following:
    • Date: Choose today, 7 days, 30 days, or set a custom date range.
    • Location: Choose 'near me,' 'virtual,' or a specific city.
    • Format: Choose Social, Workout, or Competition.
    • Distance: Drag the distance selector to the range that matches what you're looking for (for example, 3–5 miles).
  3. Tap "Apply" to save your filters, or "Reset" to clear them and start over.

Requirements

Event Browse is available on iOS app version 453 and later, and Android app version 455 and later. Your device location must be enabled while using the Strava app.

FAQs

What If I Don't See Any Events?

Try expanding or resetting your filters, switching the sport type, or searching for events in a nearby city. In some cases, Clubs may not be hosting events for your sport type within 20 miles of your location.

Can I see events hosted by private Clubs?

Yes, as long as the event itself is public. Private Clubs can host public events, and those will appear in Browse Events.

Can I browse events in a different city?

Yes. Tap "Filter" and set your location to "Pick a City" to search for events in a specific area.

What's the difference between event formats?

Events are categorized as Social, Workout, or Competition. Use the "Format" filter to find events that match the intensity you're looking for.

Why is my default sport type wrong?

Your default sport type in Browse Events is set to your profile's primary sport type. To update it, go to "Profile" and select "Edit Profile."
