Activity Overview

  • On the upper right, you can share rides on X or your blog. You won't see these options if your activity is set to private.

  • You can give and view comments and kudos. Clicking the relevant buttons at the top of the page opens the social lightbox.

  • On other athletes' activities, clicking the profile picture to the left of the page will bring you to the athlete's profile page.

  • Clicking Add a Description opens the edit activity dialog, where you can add public ride notes to your activity. There's also an option to add private notes.

  • Depending on the GPS device used to record the ride, you may see the option to correct your distance or correct your elevation. Click the 3-dot action menu in the left sidebar to access them.

  • Certain values that might need more explanation are also links to our Glossary — click Weighted Avg. Power, Total Work, etc., for relevant definitions.

  • You can see your activity's top results if your ride has achievements — click View All to jump to a complete list of the activity's segments. The map display features the functions you're used to: zoom, full-screen, changing the display type, and creating a route from your activity.

The summary panel at the top of your activity is persistent across all views on the page, not just the activity overview.

  • The summary panel doesn't display all the values you're used to seeing by default. Click "Show More" for a more detailed view, and "Show Less" to return to the previous view. Your browser will remember this preference, but you can always change it back.

  • Clicking the arrow at the top right of the display collapses the overview panel.

Segments

Beneath the map, you'll find a list of all the segments recorded on your ride.

  • You can view information about that segment and your segment effort, and star a segment.

  • At the bottom of the list, click Show Hidden Efforts to display any hidden segments on your ride, which you can then unhide. You'll also see buttons to create a new segment and to learn more about segments.

Strava subscribers can hover over any segment to:

  • See it highlighted in blue on the map, with the portion of your ride's elevation profile it represents shown in dark gray.

  • See the numerical value of your segment's effort intensity score if power data is available, and hide that segment from your list.

  • Open a segment effort detail panel in the full segment list that shows detailed information, including the "Top 10" leaderboard, with default filters based on account preferences.

  • Filter the results displayed, set a goal for that segment, or analyze the effort in that segment (more in the Analysis section below). Clicking View Full Leaderboard takes you to the segment page on Strava.

Analysis

The analysis view has the most detailed information about your ride. The collapsed Summary Panel stays at the top of the page. Click the mile marker or clock icon near the left of the page to switch between distance-based and time-based views.

  • To the right of the elevation profile and the stacked performance chart (speed, power, and other values), you'll see instantaneous values for your activity. Moving your cursor over the elevation profile or any performance chart updates those values to reflect your distance, time, speed, and elevation at that point. To the left of the charts, you'll see average and maximum values for the selected range of each parameter.

  • Below the elevation profile is a plot of the segments as they occurred on your ride — the segment bars. Only unhidden segments show up here. Hover over a segment's bar to see its basic details, and click it to view the segment effort analysis (more below).

  • Click and drag a selection on the elevation profile or any performance chart to zoom in on that portion of the ride. The statistics to the left of the charts update to reflect your selection, which is highlighted in blue on the map. You can then expand, shrink, or slide that selection. Click anywhere on the elevation profile or stacked charts to zoom back out.

  • Clicking a segment from the Segment Bars, or clicking Analyze Effort from your list of segments on the Overview page, opens the Segment Effort Analysis view. The same applies to lap bars (if present), found between the elevation profile and the segment bars — more on lap analysis below. When you have an active selection (a lap, a segment, or a custom range), the distance, elevation difference, average grade, and time for that selection appear below the elevation profile.

Heart Rate

Strava subscribers can select the heart rate tab from the navigation panel to analyze their heart rate zone distribution and their Relative Effort.

Power Curve

Selecting the Power Curve tab from the navigation panel displays your power curve — showing exactly where on your ride your maximum average power for a given interval occurred — and lets you compare that ride's peak power with your historical best.

  • Click the time range drop-down to select a different comparison period, and switch between Watts and Watts per Kilogram using the buttons at the right.

  • Click a time interval to "focus" on that data and visit the activity where your historical best was recorded; click again to "unfocus."

Zone Distribution

Select Zone Distribution from the navigation tab at the left to view the percentage of your activity that took place in each of your training power zones - which are automatically calculated based on your FTP.

25w Distribution

The 25-Watt Distribution page compares your activity's Weighted Average Power with the time spent in each 25-watt power zone, providing more granular insight into where you spent the most time.

Laps

Select Laps to see your activity broken down by laps as recorded by your device (if applicable). Click a lap to "focus" on its data, and click it again to "unfocus."

Edit

Select the pencil icon to change your activity's title, sport, or ride type; add tags; change the map type; set your perceived exertion; or edit your gear. You can also manage your activity privacy controls and hide stats from your activity. You can add ride notes in the description field, add private notes, and upload any photos you took during your ride.
