Spam, bots, and Unwanted Solicitations

At Strava, we expect all athletes to follow our Community Standards and Acceptable Use Policy, which are part of our Terms of Service. We’re committed to protecting the integrity of our platform and take action against anything that may be inappropriate, spammy, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful to the community.

Spam may manifest as unsolicited promotions, repetitive comments or follow requests, or suspicious messages. It can disrupt the Strava experience and undermine trust within our community. That’s why we’re continuously working to minimise its impact and keep your experience positive.

While Strava is committed to reducing spam, like any open social network, it's a challenging problem to solve. That’s where you come in. Your reports play a key role in helping us quickly identify, evaluate, and remove truly spammy content. If you come across any content that appears to be spam—such as unsolicited promotions, fake accounts, repetitive comments, or suspicious messages—we encourage you to report it right away. Here's how you can report it:

The Strava Trust & Safety team will review the direct message you reported to determine whether it violates our policies. When necessary, we may also review the broader conversation to ensure we fully understand the context and intent before making a decision.
