How to Get Your Activities to Strava
Strava works with most GPS watches, fitness apps, and cycling computers on the market. There are four main ways to get an activity onto Strava: recording it directly in the app, syncing from a connected device, importing from another fitness platform, or uploading a file by hand. Pick the method that matches your setup below.
Record with the Strava App
The simplest way to get an activity onto Strava is to record it directly in the iOS or Android app. Start the app before you head out, and it tracks your route and stats in real time. When you finish, your activity uploads automatically.

Sync from a GPS Watch or Wearable
If you record with a watch, bike computer, or other wearable, most devices sync to Strava automatically once they're connected. Some of the most common devices include:

Import from Another Fitness App or Platform
If you already track workouts somewhere else, you can usually connect that platform to Strava instead of starting over. Common platforms include:

Upload a File Manually
If you have a workout file saved to your computer, for example, an export from Garmin Connect or an older device that no longer syncs, you can upload it directly. Strava accepts GPX, TCX, and FIT files up to 25MB, as long as the file contains actual workout data.

Add an Activity Without a Device
If you did a workout without recording it, you can still log it by hand. Learn how in our guide to uploading manual activities.
FAQs
What if my device isn't listed here?
Check the full list of compatible devices and apps. If your device can export GPX, TCX, or FIT files, you can always upload those manually.
Why isn't my activity showing up after I synced?
This is usually a connection or permissions issue. See our syncing troubleshooting guide for steps specific to your device.
Can I upload old activities from my computer?
Yes. Any GPX, TCX, or FIT file with workout data can be uploaded through the file uploader, even if it's from an activity you did months ago.
Is there a size limit on file uploads?
Yes, files must be 25MB or smaller.
